Hi Jeroen, try to clean the left eye with a sharp needle. It seems not to be that sticky than on the right one. Be careful not to destroy the shell of the trilobite. Perhaps put the cephalon (the head) of the trilobite first into water for one day. Maybe you can get away the clay. Then you see the ...

Hi Lars,
its an interesting piece of rock. I agree with you, that the backside of the rock contains parts of devonian fish. These parts are very, very rare in the Eifel-devonian. I only found very small parts during nwarly 20 years of collecting in the Eifel
best regards
Ben

Hello There are not so many phacopids there. II think, it can be the cephalon of Arduennops michelsi STRUVE 1970 (Wiltzformation, upper emsian, Lower Devonian) If the place, you found it is between Wiltz (in the West) and Dasburg (in the east), you can take that name. They can also be found in the ...

Hello, This is an extraordinary fossil. I collected many, many years in the lower devonian in the Eifelregion and only found three of them. Thanville from my view is upper emsian, lower devonian. Related to Eifel-material, I think, its a Gastrocrinus type. But I collect trilobites, not crinoids ...

Hello Strandjutters,
my first idea was, that it could be conulariid. I found several of them in the last 20 year, but they were all a little bigger. 4cm is prett small.
Best Regards
Benedikt

Hallo Benjamin
I follow IVOK. They seem to be Acastidae. I think that you found
Treveropyge prorotundifrons (Richter & Richter, 1943)
I found parts of these species in the Region between St. Vith and Ouren. But they are always very rare.
Best regards from the Eifel
