My cousin Bastiaan found this fossil in south-africa 2 years
ago on a beach. We think it is an ammonite but we aren’t sure... Can someone help us?

Hello,

why do you think this is an ammonite?

Best wishes,
Oliver

Hi Augustijn,

Similar to Oliver, I'm wondering why you think this may be an ammonite - or even a fossil, to be honest. I don't want to wreck your dreams, but to me this looks just like piece of shell...

Best regards,
Alexander.

Hello,

Surely it's a fragment of a Oyster, is not an ammonite.
