Chomatodus sp.
Hello
I was able to buy this tooth a while ago. An information card was attached to the tooth. This information is listed on the card:
- Chomatodus sp. (petalodont shark)
- middle Mississippian Period
- Harrodsburg Limestone Formation
- Washington County, Indiana
I would like to collect some additional information on these early species. However, after already doing some research I have not found much additional data. Furthermore, I would like to ask if it is possible to complete the determination to one particular species? During the search I also came across this one: Deltodus sublaevis. This species is very similar to the one I have. Can someone help me further?
Thanks in advance
