I had that thought too.But the colour of the stone was to my opinion a little bit different from Sengenthal

Hello Gerrit and Erik!

At first: you can write in Dutch, I am able to understand most of it. But it would be a disgrace if I try to wirte Dutch, for this reason I make an apology and try to write in English.

In Sengenthal upside the Bajocian (with the well known grey Garantiana-oolite and red Parkinsonia-oolite) you find further banks. One of them is called the "Zwölfer Bank" (I think this should be part of the Bathonian) and the material Gerrit shows (I refer on the later pics), seems to me to belong to this bed, which is nearly comparable rich of ammonites as the more known strates (but a little bit neglected by most of the collectors... partially by reason that this was the "claim" of the specialist who made it possible to reopen Sengenthal for fossilcollectors).

Hoi Sönke, bedankt voor de informatie. Ik vind Sengenthal een hele mooie fossielenlocatie. Vergelijkbaar met Velpe. Jammer dat de groeve zo ver weg is voor ons.

Hello Gerrit and Erik,

regarding the shell-preserved ammonites and gasteropods Sengenthal is the best location in Germany...
Whenever you can digg in the Parkinsonia or Garantiana oolithe you´ll find a couple of well-preserved pieces.
But, don´t wait so long... that the layers are completely exploited (concerning the Parkinsoni-oolithe most of the specially for collectors outcroped bank is away... the Garantiana oolithe still exists).

He said that´s possible to reduce the costs for greater groups. Maybe you can get a little better rate.

Ich habe auch gesehen das Werner Müller ein stuk geschrieben hat uber die Fossilien aus dem Parkinsonien-Oolith von Sengenthal.

Könntest du mir die Seiten kopieren oder scannen? Ich bin erst seit diesem jahr mitglied der APH und habe die Hefte von 2008 nicht.

Hallo Gerrit,

vielleicht kannst Du - als Neumitglied - eine PC-Version des Heftes vom APH bekommen (die wird denke ich sowieso in spätestens einem Jahr online gestellt, wenn es so wie mit den normalen Heften gemacht wird). Das Heft ist ja schon vergriffen und davon dass eine Neuauflage geplant wird, weiß ich nichts.
Es ist klasse, hilft Dir aber als Orientierung im Gelände nicht (es enthält außer den Bildunterschriften keinen Text), dafür aber nachher bei der Bestimmung der Funde.

Das Heft gibt einen schönen Überblick über die Fauna, manche der Bilder (und noch viele andere mehr) stehen aber auch hier online:
