is the fossil event in Boxtel a good place to have an expert look at my trilobytes ?
Hi all,
For holiday, I went to Canada this year and stumbled on the Burgess Shale.
By sheer luck I could join a guided hike to the Mt Stephen quarry. afterwards I was give a few fossils (from another place in southern BC they said) and since then I'm fascinated.
would it be possible to have these fossils evaluated at the event in Boxtel this autumn ?
as you might guess, I have no previous knowledge apart from a broad interest, a burgess shale leaflet and the book "Wonderful Life".
I'll try to upload some photo's into my "collection".
Looking forward to your opinions (me being a very lucky bastard indeed is probably one of them )
I added photo's of one fossil in my collection. not sure how to link to these here...
ps : the fossils are in a matrix (I learn fast..) of very soft shale. a bit like dried clay.
is there a good way to preserve these fossils in their current state ?

I'll not claim to be an expert as BC trilobites are not my field of experience, but I will have a good look at it if you like. You'll find me at the Fossiel.net booth.

A new extensive article from Frederik Lerouge (Frederik) with contributions from Ivo Kesselaer about preparation techniques has been published on Fossiel.net.

Really?
Likely a bot. We'll have to sharpen our security a bit.
