Period: Tertiary-Eocen(Lutetian)

Re: Solitary coral
Hello Pedra,
Very nice rugose coral!
I collected in the eocene in the Pyrenees myself, and also found corals. I will have a look for you in the Treatise to look for a coral like this.
In the Photopages you can view some of my coral finds from the Pyrenees (Boltaña).

Re: Solitary coral
if the age is correct, than it is not a rugose coral but a scleractinian coral,
but more specifically than this determination, i cannot go (don\'t have the specific knowledge)
cheers stijn

Re: Solitary coral
Ammun Rah is right. Rugose corals lived from the Ordovicium till Perm. Scleractinian coral lived from Trias till now.
It\'s a nice coral you are showing us.
Maybe you shout seek in the underorde from Faviina. I\'m not sure, its a quess !!
Succes.
