Identification of a bone of Cretaceous
This weekend I found a large bone in the Cretaceous-Maastrichtian, it measures 35 cm and is 8 cm high, someone has an idea? Mosasaurus?

Looks like it could be a neural spine. One of those spikes on top of a vertebra.
If so, it could be Mosasaur. And then I think you'd be looking at quite a large Mosasaur at that. And that would be a very nice find.
Like these for example.

Mosasaurs are identified by their skulls. A loose tooth is very hard to put a name on. In some cases you can put a genus name on it. But not really a species as there is simply not enough known about them. And of course the location where you found it is very important for identification.
Anyhow, I'd think that tooth is from somewhere in the front part of the jaw. Definitely Mosasaur though.
