I doubt that your identifications are all correct, especially number 2 and 5. I suppose that you mean a fragment from the outer layers of a mammoth's tusk with "a piece of woolly mammoth tusk bark". Mammoth tusks are made of ivory and ivory does not contain the many small holes very well visible on 2 and it looks like 5 also has these holes. Holes like these are encoutered in the inside of bones... In this case probably unidentifiable mammoth bones.

I'm just trying to help you, by giving my opinion on the fossils. I'm not trying to say that you're wrong/unfair with this quiz.

Here http://www.northseafossils.com/index.ph ... &Itemid=53 you can find photo's of mammoth tusks (and fragments).

I see your point very well. I looked into it further and realised I bought bone instead of tusk, doesn't matter because I bought some more cheep tusk in the past month! This time I am sure it's a tusk.
Thanks for informing me!:D

PS: Tell me this piece is mammoth tusk!

Picture 3 looks more like a horse phalanx to me.

Maybe it is. Now I feel bad. I have created a new better quiz in the general fossil forum to make up for it.
