Corkscrew Or Phone Cord Shape

Corkscrew Or Phone Cord Shape fossil. Found in a rockgarden in Grand Rapids Michigan. There are also shell type fossils on it. Just curious about what it could be. Photo of close up of the end with the 'head'. Measuring from the squiggly 'tail' to the bend near the head it's just under 2.5 inches.

Don't know, maybe some sort of plant, angiosperm?

Looks like a moluusk shell in cross-section - possibly. But the fact that the units are separated is at odds with that ID...

After checking the geology of the grand rapids bedrock on the following link
http://0.tqn.com/d/geology/1/0/C/I/michmapbigold.jpg you could asume that the rock is from the upper mississipian wich corresponds with the carboniferous. Looking at the shape of the rock and taking in the age of the bedrock in GR I think you have collected a cross section of a trilobite. For a cross section of a trilobite follow this

But.
If you found it in a rock garden it can quite possibly be that the rock is not local and imported from somewhere else. It can have a different age and therefore it could be something else.

I must have missed this topic, thanks Smaug to pointing that out. For what it's worth after a couple of months: this is definitely a longitudinal cross-section of a trilobite.
