Hi everyone!

I'm kinda new here, but I found this fossil, and I really don't know anything about it. Although I think it might be some kind of shell.
I'm doing my endwork for highschool next year on fossils, and hope you can help me out with identifying this one.
Here's the info I have:

Found in: Møn, Denmark.
I found it on the rock beach along one of the famous chalk-cliffs.

I hope you know more than I do!

That`s funny!
Looks like a small facial picture of a man with a very big beard...

But it is most probably a coral or a barnacle of wich one half has been weathered away bij wave action.

First of all: welcome to the form, Emausaurus!

I am not entirely sure about the identification by Elbert. Could you perhaps take a close-up of this fossil. It looks really interesting!

To me as well. But further statements can only be done on the basis of close-up pictures.

I think a coral is indeed a good guess,
Here's another more detailed picture (I hope).

It is a cross section of a coral. The left image shows almost your exact cross section.
I cant help you to the exact species but maybe others can.

this is really a great help.
So it is a coral, all that's left now is to find out what kind of stone it's in.

The exact type of rock is very hard to tell from pictures because important details are missing in almost every photograph. But the fossil being a coral makes limestone a more likely contender, although corals can be found in other rocks as well sometimes. Estimation of its age is quite difficult because you have a pebble that is not found "in situ" (in it's original locality). Type and color of the rock and the fossil in the rock might bring you closer to where it came from and its age, but I don't know enough about the geology in Denmark to help you with this.
