It definitely looks like a piece of bone to me! I\'ve found quite a lot of dino-bone pieces in Spain (beautiful country by the way :d ). Can you make a more detailed photo?
Any idea how old it is? Where have you found it? (The area of Tremp is know for it dino-eggs and bones, for example).

I agree with fossildude. It most definetly looks like bone. Or actually, maybe even two bones? Its hard to tell from the picture. Nice find.

I don’t mean to be a spoilsport, but I’m definitely not convinced that what is shown on the photo is a bone. I have some petrified wood here at home, which qua colour, structure and shape looks the same. Therefore, for a correct determination more close-up photos and additional information, like rock type, geological age of the rock, other fossils found in the rock, etc., is needed. Without this the determination ‘bone’ is in my opinion only a best guess.

I agree with Camiel. Unless you have a more detailed picture and some additional info, it will still be a best guess. That is true.
(That is why I said it looks like...)

Hi Javier,

Can you make a photo of the "side view"? I mean a photo on which you could see either the growth rings (in case we're dealing with petrified wood) or the bone structure (in case it's bone), the angle of the photo above does not give enough info. Either way (bone or wood), It's a great find! As a collector of fossil plants, I'm rooting (LOL) for it to be wood (although I think you've actually found bone). I've heard of many bone-finds in the Tremp area, but this would be the first petrified wood case I know of.

P.S. I thought nowadays the Tremp area was a geologic park, where it's not allowed to go fossil-hunting anymore? Is it still allowed? Then I definitely need to go there again!

by the way , in Tremp area you can take anything!! only exist small areas that is not allowed.

you must come here!!

now i shoy you another X fossil... found very near ,only 1meter than "bone or wood fossil".

all is found in "Tremp-Alta Ribagorça" area
