Jaw bone?

Bericht door Gust » 25 jun 2025, 01:06

Hi all,
I found this fossilized bone fragment on a beach near Domburg (The Netherlands).
You can clearly see some holes where the nerves would have been.

Size: 5.5 x 3.8 cm,
thickness: thickest part 2cm, thinnest part 0.5 cm

Is this possibly part of a jaw bone?
Is it possible to determine what animal it might come from?

Bone fragment. Further lD is difficult even with better pictures. Holes were for blood vessels.

Groet,

Niels
