on first sight I\'d say the object looks like a belemnite fragment called \"rostrum\". I\'m sure the more into-this-matter-people of the forum can help you out on this one.

Try googlin\' on \"belemnite + rostrum\" or check wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belemnite and see for yourself.
