Help with instructions on fossil photographing

Hi,
I wonder if you could help me. I\'ve been trying to translate your instructions on how to make good photographs of fossils using an on-line automatic translator and well,... it\'s been kind of nightmare. But somehow I\'ve managed to understand the general idea. I have a doubt, though. If you use macro, you don\'t need to zoom, do you? Did I get it right?
Thanks in advance
Petra

Hello Pedra,

When you are using macro, you shouldn\'t zoom in at all, this will take down the quality of the photograph! The best thing to do when you\'ve got to much empty space at the photo, around the fossil is to cut it away (with some sort of software, like microsoft office picture manager or photoshop), until you\'ve got the right size of the photograph. I hope I\'m clear enough.

Greetings Bram.

By the way: Optical zoom doesn\'t deteriorate your photo as much as electronic zoom.
