Some teeth from Antwerp
Some teeth from Antwerp
Hey you,
Here is another Alopias from Antwerp. Is it possible to say which species????
I also found a very small catticus, is this juvenile? It´s 8mm.
And the strange bone is a part of a fish jaw, I guess???
Greetings
Stephan

Re: Some teeth from Antwerp
The catticus could be juvenile although I rather think it's a smaller tooth from the back of a shark's jaw. Especially because the crown is wide and definately not under-developed.
The "bone" is indeed a piece of a fish jaw, the round figures you see are the spots where the fishteeth used to be.
The Alopias might be a superciliosus, but that's just a thought, I'm not very familiar with those species. I say superciliosus because of the relatively thin and bend crown.
Cheers.

thanks for your reaction;)
You are indeed right with your determinations!
I already forgot this topic, 1 year for 1 reaction, that´s pretty good. I gave up writing in the English part of the forum anyway...
Best regards
