A repaired ammonite

Here is one of my smaller sphenos. When I was taking off the rock on the smaller part of it, I realized that part of the keel was missing! I just about had a heart attack!!! Then once I calmed down, I relized that I could take some shell material off the opposing piece of rock and rebuild it. I figured it would be good prep practice. Im actualy quite happy with the results. This little guy measurs 7 inches across. What I really like about it is that its still in the concretion that it was found in, plus, I still have the other side that will fit realy nice on top of it. This is going to make one very nice and very cool specimen!!! WooooHoooooo!!!
