Unknown triassic shark tooth

Hi together,

has anyone an idea about the tooth on the picture. Size is around 8 mm. It's from the german Trias, Muschelkalk, Würzburg Germany. It looks like Hybodus or Acrodus. I did not find anyone like this in books about the Muschelkalk.
Thanks much for any hints.

Greetings,
Harry

I'm no shark tooth expert, but regardless, determining the species will be very hard when it's still incased to such a degree in the matrix.

Can you crop the picture? It's no use showing all that matrix. Use photoshop for instance to "cut away" the unnecessary parts. Also, could you describe what you see e.g. ornamentation, dimensions, pores, etc. ... It gives me the impression of being something Acrodus like though.

Hi Age,

Nice to hear from you!
Wow great, thanks for that hint! Exactly like your pic my tooth looks under the microscope. So I have a new species in my collection ;-)
Do you have more from Muschelkalk? May be we can trade something. Let's mail.

Greetings,
Harry
